A week or so ago, I got a great surprise from my neighbor.
I was in my shop (garage) wishing my body was up to working on some projects today, but alas it wasn't.
Suddenly my neighbor stopped by and asked if I had a bandsaw. I thought he was asking if he could use mine and felt bad as he's helped me out so much already with tools and advice. I didn't have one and said no. He simply asked me to follow him over to his shop where he offered me a bandsaw for free. It works, but needs a blade.
Big thanks to my awesome neighbor! This will be a great addition to my shop and opens up a number of projects I can do, including making the boat build easier!
I even took it for a quick spin and created a few things once I purchased a blade. Looking forward to working with it more!
On Saturday, we had planned on having Amanda's Dad help us cut down a tree. We also informed our neighbor's as the tree is right on the property line and we didn't want to damage their vehicles. They said not only would they move them , but would be available to help as well. Come Saturday morning, we have not only my father-in-law, and my neighbor but also my neighbors son and grandsons. They are awesome neighbors, and we've been so lucky to have them.
I hope everybody had a great time over the Holidays. I had a great time with family. But as always, all the driving has done a number on my pain. I've spent the last few days resting up and not doing much.
After the last few days I have been going a little stir crazy. Were it not for my niece getting me a cool little video drone, more on that another time, I would have likely gone more than a little crazy.
Now that i'm mostly rested up, I decided to get back to work on the DVD shelf
I'll be finishing up the DVD shelf in the next few days hopefully.
Work is still continuing on the boat project. Recently I posted a 3D walkthrough animation video to my new YouTube channel. I've also been cleaning up the website and receiving quotes for lumber as I hope to start cutting lumber for frames soon.
At first I was going to scrap that whole piece, purchase a new sheet of plywood, and cut out a new piece to start over. However, I decided to first try my hand and repairing the damage.
Now the piece is fixed. I will use the fixed board for the bottom and placed the fixed portion in the back. Should be strong enough and hidden enough. So I think i'll call this a success.
I will be taking a short break so I can go see the new Star Wars tonight! But hopefully will get back to work soon and complete this shelf.
